On Music Terminology

Dear Uncle Sam,
A couple months ago, I was asked by a dear friend to contribute a short video to the fabulous Online Art Magazine, Flasher.com. There were virtually no guidelines regarding it’s content.
Below, I’ve embedded the video I hastily, sloppily threw together.
Over the years I’ve grown accostumed to seeing and hearing myself perform music, but seeing and hearing myself speak is still excruciating to me. In general, this little monologue, entitled “On Music Terminology”, is far from perfect.
There is at least one item of misinformation that I noticed: I accidentally place Woody Guthrie into the same period as Pete Seeger, (although Woody paved the way for Mr. Seeger decades earlier). I’m sure there are other errors too. But, I put this together in one evening for a good friend, and it seemed to go over well with the folks at flasher.com, and I hope you get a kick out of it now.

This was so insightful! And for the vinyl disc, you said “Woody Guthrie, and later Pete Seeger,” so you weren’t totally lumping them together.
Hmmmm…what kind of music does Ben Patton play?
How’s about, Delectable, Delightful, FLIPPING AWESOME Music? I think that describes it pretty well.
“I play FLIPPING AWESOME music. That’s what kind of music I play.” (is what you should tell people. If they don’t believe you, just say Sarah said so and she is the top authority on the subject…of flipping awesome music.)
